ABOUT ME
I started playing guitar when I was twelve years old and have been making music ever since. I’m an analogue geek and over the years I have collected a range of vintage and modern microphones, compressors, instruments and toys to make great sounding recordings. I love working with artists who are passionate about their music, whatever the genre, and I particularly love recording to tape. Over the years I've been lucky enough to work with lots of amazing artists including The Wytches, Metronomy, Dhani Harrison, Uncle Acid, Wolf Alice, The Winstons and Calibro 35, not to mention my own band GypsyFingers.
TILEHOUSE STUDIOS
Tilehouse Studios was originally built for my father Mike Oldfield in 1981 in the countryside on the edge of London. Lots of wonderful music was recorded at Tilehouse in the 1980’s. In 2010 I decided to refurbish the studio and to bring it back to life. My intention was to restore the studio to the same high standard it was originally designed to be, filling it with vintage equipment from the same era - including a 2-inch 16-track Studer A800 analogue tape machine - as well as the latest modern gear for digital recording.
